Quotes
[edit]- We are all humans but we also have different perspectives in life.
- I’m very passionate about global health issues. I’m very passionate about equality.
- For me, the biggest obstacle has often been being the lone voice in a board of mostly men and I’m the only woman. When I don’t have other people to affirm the things I’m saying it can make it easier to dismiss. Whereas when others hear two or three voices articulating the same thing they start paying attention.
- If global health boards were more inclusive and diverse I think that we might see a change in some research – with a focus on the person as a whole rather than only focusing on a disease.
- When organisations don't embrace diversity, I say it's their loss. If we are going to have people making decisions about issues in low and middle income countries,we must listen to the people who see the reality on the ground. Sometimes, the things that matter are very basic. And we need to have that voice in board meetings.
